Just joined and wanted to say Hi to AdamB, Jamie and anyone else I know here....
If non-technical posts are discouraged, I've just buggered up my moderation statistic. Oh well.
To those who know me, the big news in my life for this month is that I'm working Taipei, doing Technical Writing of all things... at least it pays well!
There are lots of dogs here, not really owned by anyone, who hang around the buildings and are extremely well-behaved. The cats from the title are me and Ashka. Pre-1997 you might have known me as Cathy Allen, but I've been Cat for a long time (and in highschool, too...). Ashka adopted me last year, after Rach left. He's a beautiful, intelligent, black-and-white moggy. And he was killed in a road accident last week, while I was here. I'll never be able to come through on my promise to return. That really hurts.
The big news of last year is that Rachel left me. Errr... if you haven't heard from me for over a year, the other big news is that I finally found women who would fcuk me and had been living with one for nearly 3 years. We had done the whole exchanging-of-rings thing and I thought it was forever. Funny thing is, I'm much happier now :-)
I've been contracting through Cybersource for nearly a year and have decided (after this killer contract from hell) to go permanent again - at least for a while - I'll be working with E10Ks and E450s as a Senior Sys Admin, which includes a mentoring role. Sounds like fun!
Having been in Melbourne since June/July '99, I'm now living with two friends in Toorak in a kink-friendly household. I've been based there since a day or two after New Year's Eve (2001) and Ashka loves it there!... hmm... loved it there.
Life is generally great. I'd just started seeing Sus (linguistics geek, great sense of humour, over six foot tall, marvellously warm and wonderful woman!) about a month before taking the Taipei contract.
I'm going to really miss that cat.
